The 7 and the X

At the heart of the event’s branding was a striking logo combining a “7” and an “X”, symbolizing the conference’s milestones. Complementing this was a custom mono font designed exclusively for the event, emphasizing its technical and futuristic theme.

The Swag

T-shirts, lanyards, water bottles, coffee mugs, and other merchandise were meticulously designed to reflect the spirit of hacking and the innovation-driven Hackaday community. These items offered attendees unique and functional keepsakes.

Retro Glitch

Digital content, including speaker presentation videos, was enriched by a retro-futuristic aesthetic. A glitched TV screen graphic displaying hacker tools like oscilloscopes set the tone, blending nostalgia with modern tech culture.

The distinctive main graphic for Hackaday Superconference 2023 began as a hand-drawn illustration by Joe Kim, capturing the essence of hacking with a TV screen displaying various instruments. This artwork was then transformed through a glitch effect using custom code by Alek Bradic, adding a digital, tech-inspired aesthetic.

The final piece was refined and pre-processed in Photoshop to ensure it could be seamlessly integrated into a variety of designs and media, from merchandise to digital content, amplifying the event’s visual identity.

A Typeface for Hackers

A standout element of the Hackaday Superconference 2023 was the creation of a custom mono font, designed exclusively for the event. Inspired by the aesthetics of coding terminals and technical documentation, the font reflects the precision and ingenuity that define the hacking community.
